In preparation for welfare reauthorization, the Consortium, in collaboration with the National Institute for Literacy and the Center for Law and Social Policy, commissioned a review of the research entitled “Built to Last” to document positive relationships between education and successful welfare back-to-work initiatives.  (2001)

A self assessment designed for state adult education directors and their state staff for use in analyzing the primary components within their statewide adult education programs.  Systems include program planning, accountability, professional development, finances, staffing, local program applications, marketing and student recruitment, instruction, state and local coordination in One Stops, and other related areas.
