State Staff Database

September 21, 2006
The State Staff Workgroup is
building a data base of all state staff so we can create networks and
share information. They need your help. Here is their request.
As you are aware, NAEPDC was established to provide professional
development and technical assistance to state directors of adult
education and their staff members. In an effort to expand services to
your state staff, we need to be able to identify who they are and their
areas of responsibilities. This information will greatly assist us in
(1) designing national needs assessments to better determine their
common or regional needs, (2) planning relevant professional development
and support, and (3) developing a communication network that will enable
state staff with similar responsibilities to share ideas and resources
with their colleagues in other states.
The NAEPDC State Staff Workgroup has prepared an online submission form
for contact information on your state staff members. We are defining
state staff as individuals (agency employees or contracted vendors) who
perform statewide responsibilities for your adult education program.
Many of you have designated a Consortium Associate to serve as the
“point person” for the submission of this form. This email is also being
sent to them. If you want to double-check to see if your state submitted
a name, you can view the attached file - Consortium Associates.
Timely submission of the state staff contact information will allow us
to begin some exciting work that will benefit your staff. We are in
discussions with the National Institute for Literacy in hopes of some
collaborative efforts that will expand services specifically to adult
education state staff members.
Once all of the contact information is submitted and compiled, you will
be able to electronically search state staff members by state and/or job
function. So please ask your Consortium Associate or whoever will be
submitting the information, to go to http://naepdc.org/state_staff/Resource%20COntact%20Information/resource%20contact%20page.asp
Directions: You only need to enter the “state director” information the
one time. After you enter the first state staff person, click “submit
form” and if you have additional state staff members, click the
browser’s back button and enter additional staff.
The submission deadline is October 20, 2006. Thank you for your
assistance with this important effort.
