New Mexico Seeks Proposal
Readers
Lena
Trujillo-Chavez, the Interim New Mexico State Director, is seeking readers for
her adult education proposals. She is soliciting state directors and
state staff members from other states to be readers—an excellent opportunity
to see first hand how another state runs its competition.
The 25 page paper copies of the proposals are due in her office on May 17. She
will express mail them with rating sheets to the readers with a return date of
June 1. She can pay $50 per proposal with a maximum of five (5)
proposals per reader--if you have time to read more than that, let her know.
If you or a staff member is interested in serving as a reader, please email
Lena directly at ltrujillo@sde.state.nm.us
or if you have questions, call her at 505-827-6670.

DO
YOU CAPTURE "DAY SCHOOL MONEY" FOR STUDENTS WHO ATTEND ADULT
EDUCATION?
States
use a variety of procedures (Average Daily Membership (ADM), Average Daily
Attendance (ADA), Average Number Belonging (ANB)) to determine funding for day
school students.
Becky
Bird, your colleague in Montana, would like to hear from states that capture
those funds for students who attend adult education programs.
Are
adult education students under age 22 eligible for ADM? Do
you have some other policy or legislation that pushes ADM funds to adult
education?
Please
email any information you have directly to Becky at bbird@state.mt.us and copy
me so I can add that information to our resource file.
